[The Oldest Temple]
According to legend, Wat Pho is named after a monastery in India, Pho is the place where the Lord Buddha is believed to have lived. Today, the temple is not only standing as the Buddhists' temple, but it also became a center for education such as traditional Thai medicine. Wat Pho is considered the most famous sight seeing spot for the tourists, the Reclining Buddha. The image below attracts visitor by its size, as well as its shining golden statue of Buddha.

Most tourists experienced the peaceful moment when they first saw Reclining Buddha. Their mind started calm before they leave the temple.
The Wat Pho complex consists of two walled compounds bisected by Soi Chetuphon running east to west. The northern walled compound is where the Reclining Buddha as well as Thai traditional massage school can be found.
The southern walled compound, Tukgawee, is a working Buddhist monastery with monks in residence and also Buddhist school. Outside the temple, the grounds contain 91 stupas or mounds. There are also four halls and central shrine. 71 stupas, the smaller size contains the ashes of the Thai Royal family, and 21 large ones contain the ashes of the Lord Buddha. The four stupas are dedicated to four Chakri Kings.
